The selection of a coffin or casket
At Booth & Wolstenholme we supply a wide range of coffins and caskets, from the most simple to the truly elaborate, suitable for both burial and cremation
We recognise that for some people choosing a coffin may be distressing, but it’s a personal decision and unfortunately one we cannot make for you. We are here to help and support you when organising the funeral and all our sensitive and friendly staff are on hand to deal with any questions you may have.
Making it special
Many bereaved families take great comfort from placing personal items, for example photographs or letters, in the coffin or casket with the deceased. At Booth & Wolstenholme we place no restriction on what you place in the coffin whilst the person who has passed away is in our care. However there may be restrictions placed by crematoria, for example, metal or glass objects. We are happy to advise accordingly.
Carrying the coffin
We will always supply bearers to carry the coffin. Alternatively you may choose family members, friends or colleagues of the person who has died to be bearers instead.
A choice of clothing
It may be your wish that the person who has passed away to be dressed in their own clothing and this is normally acceptable. However, in some circumstances, particularly where cremation will take place, there are some regulations which restrict certain materials. We must comply to these regulations and if you are providing clothing for the deceased, we would be happy to talk through this with you. We can supply a wide range of dressing or suiting robes, which are acceptable to the relevant authorities.
Environmental funerals
You may want to choose a funeral that is more sustainable and considerate of valuable woodland. We can arrange an environmentally friendly funeral for you, with options of coffins and caskets with eco-benefits. Find out more here.
